A fast-paced, global manufacturing organisation that produces a highly specialist product to a very niche market has a new requirement for a Master Production Scheduler to join the management team in Ayrshire. This role is cross-functional and the heartbeat of the manufacturing facility, engaging with all departments. The successful Master Production Scheduler will own the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and create the operational plan including MRP generation and develop planning capability. There will be direct responsibility for the planning function within the supply chain.

The main duties of the Master Production Scheduler will include:

  • Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule in the company’s ERP and Planning systems to prepare requirements for purchased and manufactured parts and associated Subcontract Plans.
  • Develop and Manage Short-medium-Long-term rough-cut capacity planning to support execution and development of business growth.
  • Manage a staff team of two experienced Planners, including workload distribution and performance management.
  • Review materials availability to plan; providing forecast information to Purchasing.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the planning process and develop scenario analysis to support optimising forecast and sales.
  • Ensure complete and timely closure of manufacturing orders and support new business contract review to provide optimum delivery dates to the client.
  • Drive compliance, efficiency, and effective use of the company’s ERP system
  • Active role in supporting the leadership and management of the Supply Chain function together with assisting the delivery of a profitable business. 

To be considered for the Master Production Scheduler role you will display the following skills, expereince and attributes:

  • Degree or relevant experience within a relevant business discipline
  • Proven supply chain experience in an ERP based manufacturing purchasing environment (Planning, MRP, ERP).
  • High-level financial awareness with expereince in budget and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of modern planning practices and procedures within an ERP driven Manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP and MS Office products essential. Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and be very numerate.  
  • Adept in verbal and written communication. Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels with team management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP systems including parameter setting, material and labour recording.
