My client, an established light to medium fabrication engineering company, is seeking an experienced, career driven Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join its business in the North East of Scotland. The current business owners will be looking to exit in 2 years’ time, so this role is presented as a qualified opportunity to work towards owning a significant stake in a stable, successful company and being involved as a major key player in the predicted upcoming MBO.

The initial remit will be to double the business turnover. The business is in profit currently and involved in a range of diversified, but not fully tapped into sectors. With this being the case, the brief indicates that there is excellent potential for a commercially astute manager to further develop the client portfolio as well as managing the existing business. Within the existing manufacturing facility, there is also scope to accommodate a much higher workload, so doubling the T/O is a very viable prospect.

In order to be considered for this excellent career opportunity, we are looking for an individual who can display the following skills, motivation and experience:

  1. Proven business and team management skills in a manufacturing and engineering setting.
  2. Displays genuine leadership qualities and can drive the business to realise the opportunity.
  3. Exposure to full financial P&L and budgetary responsibilities.
  4. Commercially astute with a track record of maintaining existing and winning new business.
  5. Career motivated with the ambition, drive and desire to earn a significant stake in an established engineering business.

On offer for the successful candidate will be a salary of around £70,000 DOE, plus company car, 15% to 25% bonus, pension, and the opportunity to be part of the upcoming MBO based on the delivery of agreed commercial outcomes. Further information and full JD will be provided at time of shortlist.
