Ecommerce Customer Technician

An exciting, newly created career opportunity has arisen for an Ecommerce Customer Technician to join one of Edinburgh’s longest established, UK sector-leading manufacturing companies. Central to the business, this multifunctional role will see the successful person working at the heart of a fast-growing international business, liaising directly with the eCommerce, Sales, Technology and Customer Service teams. The main purpose of the role will be to support the customer and company to succeed by driving process, system, and tool improvements across customer service and the sales function, with a strong ecommerce element.  

 

Key responsibilities for the Ecommerce Customer Technician will be to:

 

  • Take ownership and drive improvements on the B2B e-commerce platform, ensuring data is accurate and refreshed to reflect changes in the business.
  • Drive usage of the e-commerce platform via 1-2-1 customer contact and marketing/incentive activities.
  • Capture customer feedback and develop additional features and potential revenue opportunities.
  • Improve data capture and analysis throughout the business to deliver new actionable insight to customers, BDMs and customer service advisors that help increase mutual business.
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues to improve existing and create new dashboards, including automation of existing manual reporting.
  • Manage improvement projects that form part of the wider customer service strategy.

The successful candidate’s profile:

 

  • Educated to degree level in IT or Business discipline or have equivalent professional Ecommerce experience.
  • Experience of working in an e-commerce management role (ideally in a B2B environment), for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Experience of managing small to medium-sized customer success projects in systems and process improvements.
  • Commercial acumen and expereince using CRM and MRP systems.
  • Be confident with great communication skills and the ability to build credibility with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to cope with a demanding workload, and conflicting priorities.

 

On offer for the successful candidate will be a base salary of between £26,000 to £28,000 DOE. There is an exceptionally good benefits package that includes 30 days holiday (with option to buy two further weeks via salary sacrifice scheme), Yearly Bonus, Life Cover, Pension, Medical and Wellbeing Scheme, Sickness Pay increasing with length of service, free parking and modern dynamic working environment.
